Someone taps their phone to their theo.
theo loves you. Does the person wearing theo know?
“Glasses for human beings.” Bold, asymmetric, joyful, made to make one particular person happy. But once a theo leaves the optician, theo never hears from that person again.
You were opticians first. You know the wall.
Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet were opticians, in Antwerp and Bruges, looking for frames that stood out instead of blending into the wall. So they made them, and added a bit of madness to the world of optics.
Nobody understands better than theo what happens at the counter: twenty brands side by side, and a few minutes to tell a story. theo was built to stand out on that wall. Now it can speak for itself there, too.
An anagram of Hoet. A brand that rearranges things, starting with its own name.
Colour is everything.
Unexpected colour combinations, asymmetric lines like Eye-Witness, hinges that surprise. Designed in Antwerp, made in European workshops, touched by many skilled hands on the way.
“Colour is everything to theo.” Toon Somers
Every one of those decisions has a story. Today, that story mostly stays in Antwerp.
Designers who never made glasses, making theo.
theo gives “non-eyewear” designers a carte blanche, then Patrick Hoet helps turn their ideas into frames. Fashion designers, product designers, students of the Antwerp Fashion Academy.

Each collaboration is a story worth telling at the counter, in theo's own voice. With one tap, it can be.
Three things. All a bit theo.
- 1
Tell
The designer, the colour, the idea behind each frame, told by theo at every optician, in every country.
- 2
Return
theo finally meets the people it loves: a new collection, a collaboration launch, an invitation. Always through their optician.
- 3
Ring-fence
Proof that it is a genuine theo, and of who owns it. Ownership travels with the frame.
One tap. theo says hello.
The owner taps the case. The frame proves it is a real theo, tells its own story, and keeps the door open for the next one.
The optician stays at the centre. It is easier to sell a frame that explains itself, and every message from theo brings the owner back to their optician.
Where shall we start?
We would love to show you a live demo, and choose the starting point together:
One collaboration
The next carte-blanche collection, launched with its story.
One collection
To see the full experience, from Antwerp to the owner.
Every theo
Every new frame is born with its passport.
Everything else, we build with you.
